WHAT IS SHAFFER PLAZA?

Shaffer Plaza consists of three, eleven bed intermediate care facilities that provide assistance to adults with developmental disabilities.

Shaffer Plaza is administered through Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

Shaffer Plaza is an ICF licensed by the Ohio Department of Health.

Shaffer Plaza is a twenty-four hour facility. Staffing all three shifts.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Residential Aides:

Supervise, monitor, and assists residents in daily living skills. (Hygiene, bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, shaving, etc.)

Instruct residents in developing independent living skills. (Changing clothes, proper clothing combinations, social behavior, room cleaning, home maintenance, washing clothes, table manners, money management, survival skills, etc.)

Ensure that instructions and assistance meet the goals and objectives of the IHP and other therapy assistance.

Implement recreational activities with the residents. (Arts and crafts, picnic, outings, bowling, going out to dinner, etc.) Instruct and participate with residents in games and recreational activites.

Provide health assistance to the resident as needed. (First aid, and special diets).

LPN'S:

Maintain records and treatments as directed by supervisor.

Pass and record routine medications. According to OBN rules.

Observe residents for signs and symptoms of illness. (Provide first aid as needed, record required information and report to supervisor when necessary).

Supervise and assist residents through IHP goals, housekeeping tasks, and social events.

Maintain involvement in health and safety issues.

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR RESIDENTIAL AIDE?

High school diploma, and a valid drivers license.

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR LPN?

Licensed LPN
